Roberto M. Contreras is an associate in Horton, Knox, Carter & Foote, LLP’s San Diego office. Since joining the firm, Mr. Contreras has dealt with various subject matters including business litigation, health care, public agency, probate, real property, contract review and negotiation.
Mr. Contreras’ general civil litigation experience includes researching, drafting and arguing motions, propounding and responding to discovery requests, as well as taking and defending depositions. Additionally, Mr. Contreras has advised on various federal laws including HIPPA, EMTALA, and the False Claims Act.
Mr. Contreras graduated from Penn State Law in University Park, Pennsylvania where he was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and Miller Public Interest Advocate. During law school, Mr. Contreras was an extern for the Honorable Peter C. Lewis and Roger T. Benitez, both of the United States District Court, Southern District of California. Mr. Contreras received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles with a minor in Latin American Studies. Mr. Contreras is fluent in Spanish.
